Bio
Lanier Sammons is an audio engineer, producer, composer, and teacher. He serves as Associate Professor in the Music Department at the University of Massachusetts Lowell teaching in the Sound Recording Technology program. In the studio, he produces, records, mixes, and masters music across genres with a particular focus on contemporary classical and experimental releases. He also provides post-production audio work for film projects including sound design and rerecording mixing. He composes film scores, concert hall works, installation pieces, music for radio and podcasts, and songs. Lanier holds Ph.D. and M.A. degrees in Composition and Computer Technologies from the University of Virginia and a B.A. in Music from Columbia University. He was previously Associate Professor of Recording & Technology at California State University Monterey Bay.
